Parkville July 4th Festival “Rock down Main”

June 30th – July 4th, 2006

The night sky over Downtown Historic Parkville will be a blaze of color as the 2006 Parkville July 4th Festival hits its peak.

Over 20,000 people from around the county will enjoy shopping, dining, carnival rides and a spectacular fireworks display over the Missouri River. The crowd will be shuttled in from Park University and Park Hill South High School with over ten busses in the shuttle route from 6 p.m. to Midnight. Families can pick their favorite spots and watch the fireworks display from their arm chairs.

The parade on Tuesday morning will begin at 63rd street and Highway 9 at 10 a.m. The Admiral of Parkville, Bill Grigsby will announce the parade with hundreds of people in the procession.

Midland Empire Shows will host the carnival from June 30th until July 4th. Other perks of the festival will be the famous hamburgers, strawberry topped funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade and the ever-popular kettle corn.
