Where are we going?

During her tenure as president, Debbie Hopkins of the Platte Valley Bank brought our Parkville Chamber of Commerce to the level of success it enjoys today. She is a hard act to follow, but as your new president I want to continue the programs she began and achieve new goals.
Our membership has grown to over 300 members and I believe that with the leadership of Membership Chair, Daren Higerd of Weichert Realtors, we can double the number before Daren takes over as president in January 2010.
Our Chamber will serve its members even better then before. This newsletter is the
beginning of this acceleration of effort.
I am also very excited about our new Economic Development Committee under the direction
of co-chairs Jim McCall of Summer Wind Services and Kerby Varner. This committee is inventorying and cross referencing all the businesses in Parkville. This has never been done before. From this inventory the Chamber will work for retention of businesses as well as learn the type of industries our community wants to attract.
I look forward to a great 2008 and 2009 for the Parkville Chamber of Commerce. As we become more united of purpose we can and will achieve great benefits for our members and our community.
