A scientific research study nicknamed, “Change or Die,” followed people who were medically required to change a behavior like over-eating, smoking, and exercise, or they would likely die very soon. The study found that within a year only 10% of the people had maintained the change and their new lifestyle. About 90% of these people went back to their old habits even though it meant certain death.
Change is hard and changing something in a 2-hour or even a 2-day seminar is virtually impossible. David Sandler wrote the book, “You Can’t Teach a Kid to Ride a Bike at a Seminar.” The fact is you can’t teach much of anything.
