English Landing Park

Riverfront Downtown

Enter at Farmers Market

English Landing Park is a place of extraordinary beauty and natural wonders. Little can compare to the serenity that envelope you as the old clock tower at Park University chimes out across the Riverfront Park and trails. Stroll along the trails, or just relax for a while on the “sweetheart” bench and watch the colors of a breathtaking sunset dance on the Missouri River. Enjoy activities, or read a book in the shade of towering trees, with spectacular wooded bluffs as a backdrop. Swing the kids to the rhythm of the rolling river, and passing trains. Or if the spirit calls, simply lie back in the grass and watch the world pass by you.

The Parkville Nature Sanctuary

1201 East Street

Enter at Old City Hall

The Parkville Nature Sanctuary is hidden on 100 secluded acres just moments from downtown, east of city hall. Hike to the overlook and take in incredible vistas. Explore chipped trails that wind through wetlands and a meadow where deer, fox and turkey meander. Relax by a limestone bluff waterfall that flows year round. Guided hikes provide more structured opportunities to learn about the woodland creatures, birds, and the plant life that call the Nature Sanctuary home. Sift through the stones in gentle flowing creek beds. Listen as the geese honk overhead as they fly towards the river. Nature surrounds you in Parkville!
