Missouri Can't Wait - Transportation Campaign
The Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be part of a broad coalition that has come together to rally support for increased investment in Missouri’s transportation infrastructure. We are helping launch a campaign called Missouri Can’t Wait and it is supported by Missouri organizations and individuals who care deeply about the future of Missouri’s transportation system.
We are encouraged by the early legislative momentum behind a proposal to increase investment in our roads and bridges. But we know if will be a very, very difficult fight. We need your help to show Gov. Parson and legislators just how important this issue is to you and your business. Please click here to sign our letter to show your support.
In the upcoming weeks, we will hold legislative update Zoom meetings to keep you informed of our progress. The first of these meetings is set for March 8, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. We will hear from Ted Pitts, the South Carolina State Chamber president who led the passage of a legislative package similar to the one that is currently under consideration by the Missouri General Assembly. We will also hear from Lew Ebert, the North Carolina chamber president who led a campaign to secure more than $1 billion in new investment in transportation infrastructure in North Carolina. Seth Millican, executive director of the Georgia Chamber Transportation Alliance, will also talk about how Georgia overcame obstacles to secure increased transportation funding. Here is the link to register for that event.
